🎭 Game Overview
"2 Lies + A Truth" is a social deduction party game where one player makes three statements (two lies, one truth), and the group tries to guess which one is true — while an AI simultaneously analyzes each statement.
What You Need
- Players: 3-8 people (ideal: 4-6)
- Device: One iPhone with NoBluff installed
- Time: ~3-5 minutes per round
Daily Limits
| Tier | Rounds/Day | Recording Time |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 3 rounds | 15 seconds max |
| Pro | 20 rounds | 30 seconds max |
📜 Rules & Game Flow
Phase 1: Recording
One person becomes "The Liar" and records 3 statements:
- 2 statements must be LIES
- 1 statement must be the TRUTH
- Minimum: 3 seconds per statement
- Tap the orb → Speak → Tap to finish
Phase 2: AI Analysis
After each statement, the AI analyzes voice patterns and delivers a verdict:
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| LYING | AI detected deception markers |
| TRUTH | AI believes statement is genuine |
| TOO SMOOTH | Suspiciously rehearsed |
| UNCLEAR | Audio too short or unintelligible |
Phase 3: Group Guess
After all 3 statements, the group (everyone except The Liar) discusses and votes on which statement they believe is THE TRUTH.
Phase 4: The Reveal
The Liar reveals which statement was actually true. Points are awarded based on who got it right!
🎤 Strategies for The Liar
Your Goal: Fool both the AI AND your friends.
Beat the AI
The AI detects voice tremors, pitch shifts, and breathing patterns. Relax and breathe normally.
Half-hearted lies sound hesitant. Deliver every statement with equal confidence.
If your truth sounds nervous, make your lies sound nervous too. Consistency is key.
Excessive detail is a classic deception marker. Keep it simple.
"Um", "uh", "like" — these trigger suspicion flags. Speak cleanly.
Don't pause longer before lies than truths. Keep the same rhythm.
Beat Your Friends
The best lies are almost true. Pick things that could have happened.
Make your truth sound crazy. Reverse psychology works.
Use identical delivery for all three statements.
Don't smirk, look away, or fidget differently between statements.
Pro Moves
🥪 The Sandwich
Put your truth in the middle (Position 2). People often eliminate extremes first.
🎪 The Obvious Fake
Make one lie absurdly obvious, so people second-guess your other lie.
😳 The Emotional Truth
Pick a truth that's embarrassing or surprising — genuine emotion is hard to fake.
🪪 Identity Flex
If you actually ARE a doctor, lawyer, or have a cool credential — use it! The AI verifies factual claims.
👥 Strategies for The Group
Your Goal: Identify the truth before the AI does.
Reading the AI
- If AI says LYING with high confidence → likely a lie, but not guaranteed
- If AI says TRUTH → could still be wrong, especially on good liars
- If AI says TOO SMOOTH → person over-rehearsed; could be either
- Watch the confidence score — low confidence means the AI is unsure
Reading Your Friend
How do they normally sound when telling the truth? Compare against that.
Eye contact, hand movements, voice pitch changes — everyone has tells.
Truths usually have more specific, consistent details.
Sometimes you just *know* when someone's lying. Trust that instinct.
Group Discussion Tips
- Don't anchor on the AI — discuss before revealing AI verdicts
- Play devil's advocate — argue for each option
- Consider motivation — which lie would they want you to believe?
- Vote honestly — don't just agree with the loudest person
